Red Bull Music Academy and Brooklyn-based production company m ss ng p eces are producing a series of captivating short films that capture fresh and iconic music stories and characters.
For this debut episode, we turn our attention to the iconic DFA, the NYC record label that got the indie kids to dance, who defined the sound of the ’00s with a succession of releases that took disco’s rhythmic template, punk’s rebel energy, new wave’s avant humor and created something entirely new.
Narrated by Marc Maron, it features music and appearances from James Murphy, LCD Soundsystem, The Rapture, Holy Ghost!, The Juan MacLean, Shit Robot, Sinkane, YACHT and many more.
